The global goals

The Global Goals campaign seeks to complete 17 goals endorsed by the United Nations by 2030. Goal 12, responsible consumption and production, focuses on reusing goods, and not supporting big conglomerates.

The ‘shop local, support local’ campaign aims to bring a friendly approach to one area of Goal 12. I chose to focus on an illustrative theme for my design, to emphasise the small business aspect of my campaign and goal. I created each icon individually and then created a unique grid system for each character.

My assets include a leaflet, poster and D48 billboard animation.

About the design

Brief

Design assets to promote global goal number 12: responsible consumption and production. Consider the audience. Who is this targeting, what aspect of the goal are you focusing on in particular?

Design

This design prioritises handmade craft to support the ‘shop local’ movement found in this goal. Each square contains a unique design, focusing on independent retailers and local business.

Result

The assets create a cohesive message that is bold and eye-catching to the audience. I prioritised hand-drawn illustration for this project over type, as I wanted to convey the message behind the goal from my own perspective.
